Depending on your age and what bike you wish to ride will determine which test you will need to take. The new regulations only affect people under the age of 24. The biggest change is an age restriction for direct access. The OLD regulations said that once over the age of 21 you may ride any bike without restriction once you have completed your test. But NEW regulations say that you now have to be over the age of 24 to be able to ride any bike without restriction. With only one exception, where if you have held an A2 restricted licence for two years or more you may then do a further practical test to achieve your unrestricted licence.

If you are over the age of 19 you may take your test to get an A2 licence, once completed you may ride any bike, but it must be restricted so that the engine produces no more than 46.6 bhp (35kw).
